ANA Trading Corp., U.S.A. (ANATU) was established in 1971 in a small office in Burbank, California with a staff of three. Its main purpose was to supply aircraft parts to All Nippon Airways (ANA) in cooperation with ANATU's parent company, ANA Trading Co., Ltd. (ANATC).

ANA decided it was vital to have a purchasing office in Los Angeles, as the majority of aircraft parts manufacturers are scattered across the U.S., making it very difficult to place orders and negotiate contracts directly from Japan.

As ANA's operations expanded, so did ANATU's primary function of buying parts and equipment. ANATU realized tremendous growth to coincide with the airline's expansion, which included the start of scheduled international flights from Tokyo to both Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. in 1986 and later to New York and other major cities around the world.

As aircraft-related business grew other export business to Japan was added, including: machinery, fresh and dry fruits, home-delivery gift services, ANATU also expanded into importing products and services from Japan and assumed new responsibilities not only for the ANA's family of companies, but also for other companies.

ANATU's further diversification started when it became U.S. representative for a Japanese precision stamping company. Over the years, ANATU has been responsible for importing lead frames, guideposts and other precision stamping products for re-sale to American companies.
More recently, ANATU began exporting desk models of ANA jet planes. The most successful desk model is an ANA 747 brightly painted in a marine-life motif. More than 1,000 models have been exported to Japan. ANATU expanded its service to ANA when it began selecting American movies for showing on ANA's international flights. It also started buying California varietal wines for ANA's overseas flights and for ANA hotels.

ANATU spread its wings further with the 1992 establishment of its first subsidiary company, Air Staff Inc. (ASI). ASI's primary purpose is to hire and dispatch flight instructors to the International Flight Training Academy (IFTA) at Bakersfield, California, the ANA student pilot flight training facility. In answer to IFTA requirements, ANATU entered the aircraft leasing business when it bought and leased a fleet of Beechcraft Bonanza and Baron planes to IFTA.

ANATU's future expansion plan includes a vigorous approach to other foreign airlines to represent them in the U.S. in the areas of procurement and warranty service. A staff of more than 60 people in offices located in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle and Silicon Valley are dedicated to that goal.

ANATU is headquartered in Los Angeles. It occupies one floor at 970 W. 190th Street in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.

The New York branch office, located at Rockefeller Center in mid-town Manhattan, was opened in 1975. Its main responsibility is procurement and repair activities of aircraft engine parts and components on behalf of ANA with General Electric and Pratt & Whitney, two primary engine suppliers.

ANATU's Seattle branch office was established in 1977 for the primary purpose of coordinating the aircraft purchase agreements with Boeing and delivery of Boeing jets and its parts for ANA's family of companies. This office has coordinated the delivery of more than 130 Boeing aircrafts to ANA's group of companies.

ANATU had opened Silicon Valley office Machinery l Department in April 1998 as the exclusive sales agent for Enomoto Co., Ltd. with the primary business of expanding precision products business in the United States.
